LFD cigars are among the most sought after premium brands in the world. Founder Litto Gomez, known as the Cigar Master, personally oversees each stage of production from growing his own tobacco at the La Canela farm to manufacturing his unique blends in the modern factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic.
The flores dominicana is a very sophisticated smoke with a great balance of flavors and spice. It has a nice earthiness with notes of coffee, chocolate and raisins. Its strength stays just a smidge over medium making it a cigar even the novice palate will enjoy.
This cigar is one of the most eye catching that has come to market lately. It is a figurado, and it uses a mix of different wrapper leaves, some being candela which is green, maduro which is dark brown and near black and the Connecticut seed which is a lighter tan, cut into shapes to create the interesting designs on top of the shaped cigar.
The end result is a beautiful looking cigar that is sure to impress any guest you have over to your house for a cigar party or simply just to sit and watch the sunset.
The flores dominicana is the last cigar from this Katman Special sampler. It was released in November of 2013 and is limited to 1000 cigars produced in 50 boxes of 20. It is a Tres Petit Corona in size with an unassuming appearance, perhaps lulling the smoker into thinking it will be a quick smoke for lunch or half time during a game. It is not that cigar however.
