The Explosion Proof High Performance Butterfly Valves are designed for shutoff isolation of air, water, steam or gas in hazardous areas. Unlike general service valves, these valves feature double-offset stems which reduce contact between the valve disc and seat. This increases safety and improves throttling capability, even with particulate fluids.
They are also made with higher quality materials than general service valves to withstand temperature, pressure and chemical resistance. They can be connected to a control system for automatic operation and remote monitoring, improving efficiency and preventing costly mistakes.
There are a variety of connection ways, including flange connection, welding connection and lug clamp connection. The actuator options include manual, worm gear drive, electric, pneumatic or hydraulic, which can realize long-distance control and automatic operation.
Generally, high-performance butterfly valves are used to process everything that general service valves can handle, but they’re built to withstand the liquids and gases that general service valves simply can’t. They’re constructed with PTFE seats that can tolerate chemically reactive and corrosive liquids, gases and steam.
They are available in a wide size range with wafer or lug body design and flange, bolted or weld-in end connections. They’re available in soft or fire safe seat designs that offer bubble-tight bi-directional shutoff to full ANSI/ASME class 150 and 300 standards. They also come in a metal seat design for heavy duty and critical service applications, offering a full range of pressure ratings. These valves can be certified by the National Board of Accredited Testing Laboratories (NBTL) and carry a Canadian Registration Number (CRN). They are also rated for use in hazardous areas according to CSA B52, CSA B44, CSA C22.2 No. 142, and CSA C42.4 No. 50.
